COTA Waives Fares for All Veterans and Active Military in Honor of Veterans Day; COTA to Operate Holiday Service on Monday
Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will honor our nation’s veterans by waiving fares for all active and retired military personnel on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11.
COTA’s Board of Trustees once again unanimously approved a resolution in September to waive fares for veterans and active military on Veterans Day. This is the 9th year COTA has provided this for local veterans, beginning the tradition in 2016.
For customers to receive this benefit, they can provide military-issued identification to the transit operator when boarding, wear a veteran’s hat or article of clothing, or simply verbally identify as a veteran or member of the military. Fares will be waived for all veterans or active military on COTA’s fixed-route buses, COTA Mainstream ADA service, and COTA//Plus in South Columbus.
Additionally, COTA will operate holiday service on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Holiday service means COTA’s fixed-route bus lines will operate on Sunday schedules. Customers can plan trips and view transit schedules at COTA.com or the Transit app.
The COTA’s Customer Experience Center and Administrative offices will be closed Monday. The call center will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to assist customers on Veterans Day. The call center number is (614) 228-1776.
