Student Summer Pass Program Provides Four Months of Unlimited Transit for the Price of One Month

Beginning May 15, COTA’s Student Summer Pass Program is back to provide discounted transit service over the summer for students enrolled in any Central Ohio school, college, university, or technical trade school. For $62, students will have unlimited fixed-route transit service access from June 15 through Sept. 15. By comparison, one month of unlimited transit is typically $62.

The Student Summer Pass Program is open to all students, ages 5 and older, to help connect them to Central Ohio’s libraries, summer camps, sporting events and other entertainment, summer jobs, internships — and each other. There is already no charge for children under 5.

To enroll, students must bring their valid student I.D. or proof of enrollment to COTA’s Customer Experience Center, located at 33 N. High Street. Students will be enrolled in the Student Summer Pass Program via the Transit app or a COTA Smartcard for those who do not have a smartphone. All students do is scan the QR code on the Transit app or their COTA Smartcard on the validator located on the right when they board a bus.

Throughout the summer, COTA will provide rides to events including the Columbus Arts Festival (June 7–9), the Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival (June 14–16), Red, White & BOOM! (July 3), the Columbus Book Festival (July 13–14), the Jazz & Rib Fest (July 19–21) and the Ohio State Fair (July 24–Aug. 4).
