COTA Keeps Rolling

Keeps Rolling

Thursday, April 6, 2023

Spread the word to your family, friends and neighbors – it’s time to “Get in the Driver’s Seat!” with COTA during our onsite Bus Operator hiring event on Wednesday, April 26, at 1333 Fields.

This on-the-spot hiring event will include interviews along with required background checks and drug screenings, so qualified candidates can leave with an offer in hand. Prospective Bus Operators will have a chance to chat with members of Team COTA and get a sense of what it’s like to work here.

There will be two sessions: 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 – 6:30 p.m. We highly encourage all Team COTA members to stop by to mingle with job seekers and/or sign up as an ambassador to assist Talent Acquisition with this event. Contact our talent acquisition manager, Alex Swogger, at 614-275-5895 or with any questions.

Vietnam Veteran COTA Operator Sidney Hill Recognized

COTA honored Operator Sidney Hill, a Vietnam Veteran, during the “Welcome Home” ceremony at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum on March 29. The event marked the 50th anniversary of the last U.S. combat troops departing Vietnam and repatriation of our remaining prisoners of war.

Sidney served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1972 to July 1974. He proudly served as a member of the 10th Security Forces Squadron in Alconbury, England guarding F15 Eagle Tactical Fighters. Sidney has worked at COTA since August 2011. He is a member of VERG, COTA’s ERG for Veterans.

Thank you for your service, Sidney!

Team COTA Improves Payroll System

As part of our continuing focus on improving the operational excellence of all COTA divisions, COTA employees will access an enhanced paystub and functionality on the Employee Space page of our internal network. Starting tomorrow, April 7, you will access your paystubs at Click on “Employee Space” then “Paystub Details.” Training will be available at McKinley and Fields in the coming weeks.

The enhanced paystubs will now include information such as:

  • A current summary for the pay period and year-to-date pay
  • Pay distribution(s) to your bank account(s)
  • An organized breakdown of your earnings, including your rate of pay

For questions regarding technical or access support, contact or 614-308-5555. For questions regarding your paystub, contact or 614-275-5921.

Employee Survey Open Through April 16

The Employee Engagement Survey is open! Your participation is strongly encouraged in this anonymous survey, which is open through Sunday, April 16. COTA will use your feedback to make improvements. Look in your email for the survey from Central Ohio Transit Authority. The email to take the survey may be in either the “focused” orr “other” inbox in Outlook and it shows sender as “Central Ohio Transit Authority” with the subject line “COTA Employee Engagement Survey.”

If 65% of Team COTA members complete the survey, we will have a company- wide cookout. Departments that have 90% completion or more will be entered into a drawing to select three department winners for a department lunch or activity. Your voice matters — tell us what you think!
