COTA BELIEVE Team to Host ‘Produce Stand’ Food Distribution Wednesday at Northern Lights Park & Ride
The Central Ohio Transit Authority’s (COTA) African American Employee Resource Group will host its “COTA Produce Stand” food distribution event Wednesday, August 16 beginning at 3 p.m. at the COTA Northern Lights Park and Ride on Cleveland Avenue in Linden.
Fresh fruit and vegetables will be available for families in need, provided by the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and packed and distributed by COTA’s BELIEVE Team. BELIEVE stands for Black Employees Leading In Inclusion, Excellence, Vision and Education. It is a group led by COTA employees, empowered to help the communities they serve.
This is the sixth food distribution event for COTA BELIEVE and the third of four scheduled for this year. Wednesday, the group will distribute more than 8,000 pounds of food in just a few hours. Food will be available for pick-up on a first come-first-serve basis. The final distribution of the year is scheduled for October 18.
COTA encourages the media to share this information online, in publications and in newscasts. Media interested in attending the food distribution on Wednesday afternoon should arrive no later than 4:00 p.m. as the distribution goes very quickly.
