COTA CEO and CIO Earn Prestigious Committee Assignments For National Mobility Innovation Organization

COLUMBUS, OH — ITS America, an esteemed national organization advancing smart mobility, has named Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) President/CEO Joanna M. Pinkerton and Chief Innovation Officer Sophia Mohr to key standing advisory committee assignments. ITS America, which is dedicated to the research and deployment of intelligent transportation technologies, added Pinkerton to the Automated Vehicles and Emerging Technologies standing committees. Mohr has been named co-chair of Mobility on Demand. The assignments give COTA representation on three of the six ITS committees.

“ITS America is enhancing how we move, increasing efficiency in mobility, and discovering innovative technology that is safer, greener and smarter,” Pinkerton said. “I am honored to represent COTA on these two committees and am especially proud that our Chief Innovation Officer Sophia Mohr is co-chairing the Mobility on Demand Committee. We have so much to learn from the tremendous community of transportation professionals and experts who make up ITS America, as COTA remains committed to providing equitable mobility solutions for our customers.”

The Automated Vehicles Standing Committee advocates for policies and regulatory frameworks to facilitate the safe testing, deployment and integration of highly automated vehicles into the surface transportation system. The committee works to address highly automated vehicle policies, workforce impacts and mitigation strategies, and land use and transportation system integration.
