COTA to Host Transit Operator Hiring Event Wednesday
The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is hosting its spring in-person transit operator hiring event on Wednesday, April 24 at 1333 Fields Ave. in Columbus. The hiring event begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 5:30 p.m.
People interested in applying for a job as a transit operator will get to meet one-on-one with current COTA operators and human resource experts to learn about what it takes to move our community forward every day, as well as hear about the rewarding benefits of a COTA career.
Under the new bargaining agreement with Transport Workers Union Local 208, COTA offers an industry-leading starting pay rate of $27.59 per hour and $36.78 per hour after five years. New operators will undergo approximately 9 weeks of training and training wages have been increased to $23 per hour.
