Central Ohio Transit Authority to Host Its Second Operator Hiring Event of the Year on October 25

The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will host a Transit Operator hiring event on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 1333 Fields Ave. in Columbus. The Fall Transit Operator Hiring Event will allow attendees an opportunity to speak directly with current COTA Transit Operators to learn about what it takes to be an Operator and the rewarding benefits of a transit career. Those interested can begin the hiring process with onsite interviews and may leave the event with a contingent job offer. The hiring event begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 6:00 p.m. Candidates can expect to spend approximately one hour in the interview process.

Those interested are encouraged to register for the Fall Hiring Event at https://cota.com/hiring/. Walk-in applicants are also welcome. This event is only for Transit Operator positions.

The COTA 1333 Fields location is directly accessible via the following transit lines:

  • Line 8 Karl/S.High/Parsons
  • Line 12 McKinley/Fields
  • Line 22 OSU/Rickenbacker

COTA’s recruitment efforts include a Moving Forward Incentive, a sign-on bonus for new COTA Transit Operators of $2,000 for those hired without commercial driver’s licenses and $2,500 for those hired who already have their CDL. COTA will work with new hires to help them obtain their CDL. COTA offers a $20.50 pay rate during training, a $21.74 pay rate at onboarding and a $33.44 pay rate after five years.
